ABOUT US

We are a student-led organization called STEAM Labs, a team of high school students passionate about STEM, dedicated to making science, technology, engineering, and math more accessible to elementary and middle school students. Through public hands-on lab events and interactive learning showcases, we aim to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for STEAM in the next generation. As of now, we are taking focus on science and art experiments centering research we are currently doing and/or published. Steamlab was established based on publication: https://nhsjs.com/2025/coating-drierite-with-methylene-blue-for-oxygen-indication/

FOUNDERS & ALUMNI LEADERSHIP

Founded by ConnectSTEM Students. Led Forward as Alumni.

STEAM Labs was founded by ConnectSTEM students who wanted to translate their own STEM experiences into meaningful learning opportunities for younger students.

As they graduated and continued into college, the founders remained connected to both ConnectSTEM and STEAM Labs, continuing to contribute as alumni leaders.

Their continued involvement reflects a central part of the ConnectSTEM ecosystem: students can grow from researchers into founders, college students, alumni mentors, and organizational leaders who create opportunities for the next generation.

Leadership Beyond Graduation

All four founders continued their connection with ConnectSTEM after high school and remained involved with STEAM Labs as alumni leaders.

Their continued involvement demonstrates how student-led initiatives can grow beyond graduation into sustained mentorship, organizational leadership, and service to younger students.

Leadership did not end when high school did.

WHAT WE DO

We host science nights, after-school clubs, and public events for k-12 students nationwide. When participating in our events students can expect to learn about science, participate in science experiments, and while doing so make fantastic art. As of now, we are taking focus on science and art experiments centering around oxidation and reduction reactions. In our latest project, students create paintings that undergo a chemical reaction, changing their colors in real time.

AWARDS AND FUNDING

STEAM Labs has been recognized for its innovative approach to science education and community engagement. We are grateful for the support of our sponsors and partners who help us bring hands-on STEM experiences to students across the nation. Through grants and community funding, we continue to expand our programs and reach more students with our interactive science events and educational initiatives.
